Teaching Recording & Response
Here is a one-page written analysis of my teaching, assessing student progress, how I might change the lesson, and strengths and weaknesses I observed in my teaching over the course of my eight weeks student teaching.
Background Information
Below are two student profiles and ideas of how I might modify my teaching in light of their background.

Music Technology Project
For my project, I created a video assignment where students recorded themselves playing an excerpt, then assessed themselves by watching their recording.
Block 4 Student Teaching Projects
Impact on Student Learning Project
In this unit, I decided to focus on teaching students the basic of dotted note rhythms and some elements of basic composition.
Music Technology Project
For this assignment, I created a color-coded sheet of music for the song Camptown Races found in Essential Elements Book 1 using Musscore. I know some students may be more visual learners and having different colored note heads could help them with learning how to read notation more easily. I followed the colors of boomwhackers (C = red, D = orange, etc.) to have continuity between what the students may have learned about notation from their elementary general music classes.
Another project I completed was a video for beginning flutists to learn about proper tonguing technique. I used WeVideo, a basic video editor that many students in classrooms are using, to combine my videos.
Video on Flute Tone Basics
Due to the coronavirus, my time student teaching in person was cut short so I could not complete the Teaching Recording and Response Project found in Block 3. In lieu of the project, I created a video on flute tone basics that would help the students in the school district I was working at.
Rhythm Activity
Due to COVID-19, I could not complete the Background Information Project found in Block 3. Instead, I created a rhythm activity for the students that would help reinforce their learning of quarter note rhythms, as well as teach them eighth note rhythms.
